Curtis Collins was raised in Henderson and moved to Oklahoma after he graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University.  He, his wife Tracy, and their two children returned to Rusk County in 2014.  After returning home, he earned a Master’s degree in Forensic Science specializing in arson and explosive investigations from Oklahoma State University.  He is currently a Certified Fire Investigator for the ATF and a member of the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI).  He has served as the Board Commissioner of Precinct 1 since early 2026.
